Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is located in the heart of Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands and the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. With stunning views out to the impossibly blue waters of the Whitsundays, it is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the island. 

The island is one of the closest Whitsunday islands to the mainland (Airlie Beach) with spectacular 30-minute ferry ride to work each day.

Job Description

With 280 resort rooms, three restaurants, six bars, conference, and events centre and over 200 team members we are looking for an experienced People & Culture Coordinator to join our team.

As the People & Culture Coordinator at Daydream Island you will play a vital role in supporting HR functions and maintaining a positive and engaging workplace culture.  The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and various HR projects. You will be involved in all aspects of the employee life cycle.

About the role…

  • Facilitating the on-boarding process for new team members, preparing employment contracts and ensuring the completion of all necessary documentation.
  • Addressing HR-related enquiries and requests from employees and managers promptly and professionally.
  • Accurately maintain employee records and assist in the development of statistics and reports.
  • Processing of fortnightly payroll 
  • Complete essential administration tasks including ferry manifests, allocation of staff village accommodation and maintaining the Human Resources Information System.

  • Energy and passion for driving a positive culture.
  • Confident communicator with the talent to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge with ELMO Software would be advantageous.
  • Strong administration skills and proficient in the Microsoft Office suite. 
  • Ability to prioritise and manage high volume workload.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Must be eligible to work in Australia.
