Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is located in the heart of Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands and the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. The island is one of the closest Whitsunday islands to the mainland (Airlie Beach) with spectacular 30-minute ferry ride to work each day.
Job Description
In this role you will be responsible for high quality presentation and maintenance of the property’s gardens and grounds on Daydream Island Resort. This is a hands-on role in a tropical paradise. Live off island role and commute daily to Daydream Island.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintain all gardens, lawns and indoor plants to a high standard
Hand mowing lawns and edging
Triming plants and trees
Outdoor cleaning duties
Fertilise and herbicide spraying
Pathways and outdoor public areas are safe for guests and colleagues
Equipment, garden chemicals, fertilisers and plants are maintained and stored safely
Landscaping and paving general improvements
Carry out other work related duties as they arise and when requested
Demonstrate safe manual handling techniques and adhere to safety procedures
Desired Skills and Experience
Certificate III in Horticulture (Advantageous)
Resort or Public gardening experience
Strong safety focus
Drivers licence (Essential)
Ability to work outside in tropical weather
Strong communication skills
Think on their feet and strong problem solving skills
Guest focused and project a professional image at all times
