Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is located in the heart of Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands and the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. With stunning views out to the impossibly blue waters of the Whitsundays, it is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the island. 

The island is one of the closest Whitsunday islands to the mainland (Airlie Beach) with spectacular 30-minute ferry ride to work each day.

Job Description

We are seeking a professional leader for our activities team with a passion for fun, activities & water sports who wishes to join a vibrant and energetic team in the integral role of Activities Supervisor. Reporting to the Activities Manager this full-time Live off Island role will be immersed in ensuring all our guests receive a memorable dining experience. 

About the role;

  • Providing exceptional guest service as a hands-on operational leader.
  • Engaging, inspiring and effectively supervising the activities team to achieve excellence in their fun activities on the Island.
  • Positively responding to all queries (both internal and external).
  • Identifying and resolving issues efficiently
  • Managing weekly activities schedule to ensure sufficient options are available for our guests due to occupancy levels, weather & events on the Island.
  • Ensure guest and children and supervised by qualified staff

Current QLD Coxswains qualification – high recommended

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Passionate about all aspects of Activities operations.
  • Dynamic leader with a proven ability in developing and leading teams. Excellent guest relations, problem solving, decision making, being create in new ideas for guest activities and time management skills.
  • Previous administration experience is highly regarded
  • Previous experience in a similar supervisory role.
  • Sailing coaching experience and experience in tender vessel driving is highly desired
  • Highly developed organisational and communication skills and the ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Previous experience with watersports (including kayaks/standup paddleboards, HobieCat sailing)
  • Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends
  • Must hold a current First Aid & CPR and QLD Recreational boat License
  • Must be eligible to work in Australia.

 

Desired Certifications:

  • Coxswain III or Exemption 38
  • Pool Lifeguard Certificate
