Are you a driven sales professional with a passion for events and hospitality?  Join the team at Daydream Island Resort, and help bring unforgettable conferences, incentives and group events to life in the heart of the Whitsundays. 

We are seeking a Buinsess Development Manager (MICE and groups) to proactively identify, develop and convert new business opportunities across the meetings, incentive, conference, and group markets. .

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, creating tailored proposals and securing memorable events in a truly unique destination.

  • The option to be based based on island at Daydream Island Resort - live on the mainland, work on the island
    • or based in Sydney

About the role

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, you will play a key role in driving group and MICE revenue by building strong partnerships with corporate clients, agencies and event planners. 

  • Managing and responding to all MICE and group enquiries across multiple channels to maximise conversion opportunities.
  • Preparing proposals and quotations and negotiating contracts in line with resort policies. 
  • Maintaining an accurate sales pipeline using Salesforce / Delphi
  • Establish and grow relationships through networking, industry events and agency relationships. 
  • Conducting market research and monitoring trends within the conference and events sector. 
  • Monitoring performance of sales initiatives and adjust strategies to achieve targets.
  • Collaborating closely with internal teams including Events, Food & Beverage and Front Office to ensure seamless execution of events.

About you

To succeed in this role you will bring:

  • Previous sales experience in a similar hotel or resort environment (highly regarded)
  • A passion for building relationships and delivering exceptional client experiences.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organisation, negotiation and problem solving abilities. 
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment while managing multiple opportunities.  
  • Experience using Salesforce (Delphi) or similar CRM systems (advantageous).
