We are seeking passionate and motivated chefs across all levels to join our Kitchen team. Whether your building your career as a Commis or are an experienced Chef looking for your next adventure, we would love to hear from you.
Working across our diverse food and beverage outlets, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills, work alongside an experienced culinary team and enjoy the unique lifestyle that comes with working on a Whitsunday island Resort.
Reporting directly to the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef you will be responsible for preparing and cooking amazing menu items while contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Your passion for food will be evident in every dish you prepare and we welcome your creativity and flair.
About the role
This is a live on island role
Preparing and cooking menu items to a consistently high standard
Ensuring all dishes are presented with care, creativity and attention to detail
Working closely with the Executive Chef, Head Chef and wider kitchen team
Maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency, hygiene and presentation
Contributing to a positive and professional kitchen environment
Managing your time effectively and performing well in a fast-paced environment
Helping deliver exceptional dining experiences that exceed guest expectations
Following food safety, health and workplace safety procedures
Desired Skills and Experience
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience in a similar Demi Chef or Chef role, preferably within a hotel environment
A genuine passion for food and hospitality
Excellent personal presentation and a strong eye for detail
Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
Proven ability to deliver quality and consistency to the highest standards
A positive attitude and strong team-working skills
Creativity and flair with a commitment to continuous improvement
Must haves
A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or relevant tertiary qualification
Full working rights and eligibility to work in Australia
Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
